DIY – All Purpose Glitter Tray

I am so excited to share my very first DIY project.  Although these types of posts won’t be often, after the excitement and satisfaction of creating this tray myself I have already lined up a couple other DIY ideas.  If you are like me, you can never have too many trays around your house.  A tray for your ottoman with books and to give the remotes a home, a tray next to your bed with candles, a tray to serve drinks when people come over.  The list goes on.  When I saw this project on Cupcakes and Cashmere  I couldn’t help but think this was the perfect first DIY project because A) it looked easy and B) the supplies were pretty inexpensive.

Here is what you will need:

This Tray from West Elm:  $24

This Twine from Amazon: $4.90

This Glitter Tape from Amazon: $4.83

Step One:  Place glitter tape onto one side of the tray.  Line it up with the edge of the INSIDE part of the tray.  You should have excess hanging over the OUTSIDE edge.

Step Two.  Cut the tape and fold over the excess so it sticks to the side of the tray.

Step Three.  You will have extra tape at the end of each corner.

Step Four.  Fold one edge down and the other one top of the first.

Step Five.  When you are finished, Take the twine and knot before wrapping it around the handles.

Finish Product!
