Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and for those in Cincy – I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather! Our weekend started out fabulously (is that a word?). We had a very important doc appointment at Cincinnati Children’s and after a week of waking up 2-3 times in the middle of the night for feedings…we got Beazy to gain 1.5 pounds! Hearing the news was definitely one of my more proud “moments”.
The update with Miss Beazy is that we are taking one day at a time. Moving forward with getting her listed and continuing testing to see if I am a match. Jordan and I both passed the initial set of tests but because maternal donors are better…I am moving forward. If I hit a road block, Jordan will jump in. ***
Hopefully things stay quiet for awhile longer. Our job is to just feed her. Morning, noon, and night. The more she eats, the more she gains, and the further away the feeding tube is (this is the constant chant in my brain to get me out of bed from midnight-5am). We will know more once we get started with the “bootcamp” on May 5th and 6th. In the meantime, we speed up her vaccines and see our doctor at Children’s every Friday.
THANK YOU again for your support. We can definitely feel the love and you all are behind Miss Bea through this tough time. We feel your prayers and your continued support.
*** Because I am the potential donor, I got word from the doctor that I need to get in the best shape possible to prepare myself for this surgery. They made it loud and clear that walking isn’t going to be the best exercise and, instead, want me to start pilates to strengthen my core. The doc actually said that when they open you up to take a part of your liver the surgeons can actually tell how well you will recover based off of how tight your core is. Anyone have a recommendation for a studio? I heard Pendleton Pilates is good. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with ideas!
In other news….
We had a MAJOR moment this past week – my nephew was born. Patrick Robert Kennedy. Sounds presidential, right? 🙂 He is my sister’s first baby and he is a big boy: 9.5lbs and 22 inches long!
Really looking forward to Beazy and Patrick being the best of friends.
