the story behind #RHONY

Okay.  I have a confession.

One of my very very guilty pleasures is the Real Housewives series.  While I don’t watch each season, one that I look forward to is New York.  I love one of the character’s style, one is like watching a train wreck, I’m always interested in the drama of Bethany and one….just seems really nice & normal.

Heather Thomson is a hardworking wife & mom of two who is passionate about organ donation.  Like Bea, her son, Jax, was born with Biliary Atresia.  He had a liver transplant as a baby and throughout her time on Real Housewives of New York she constantly brings awareness to the shortage of organ donation in the United States.  She is a HUGE support of #donatelife and has lived the life I am living now.  The life of dealing with a potentially fatal disease and not being able to do much about it.

After a friend pointed out about our similarities, we also found out that Heather’s husband & Jordan work for the same company.  It all seemed meant to BEA so I reached out to Heather and sent her and her son #BEAstrong t-shirts with a small note pointing out these similarities.  To my surprise, she posted a picture of Bea & our family on her Facebook & Instagram account.

[On Sunday she posted another picture with the t-shirts on!  Such a nice way to continue the awareness for this disease and Bea’s story.  Not to mention – I had a few people ask to order t shirts!]

So….that’s it!  Nothing fancy and no, I’m not best friends with a Real Housewife.  Just connected with a nice person helping us get our message and story across!

Enjoy the week & #BEAstrong!

XO
