a blip in our blip

Happy Monday, Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Ours was unexpectedly eventful..but not for the right reason.  Because we know we are going on “lockdown” after Bea’s transplant, we had a fun-filled weekend planned with friends & family.  Like the last 3 months – things just went a little differently than we thought.

On Thursday, our nanny (Louise) noticed that Bea was feeling a little warm and after taking her temperature we found she had a teeny tiny fever.  We waited and it seemed to go down a little bit.  On Thursday eve, Jordan took her temp and noticed the same thing so just to be safe – we called Children’s.  Next thing we knew we were packing our stuff and heading to the ER for them to run labs and see what her numbers were like.  (I should also note that she had a little bit of a cough on Thursday as well.).

We went to the ER at 10pm, they took labs and then we heard at 12am that we were going to stay overnight becasue her numbers were a little elevated.  We finally got a room around 2:30am.

The doctors ran tests and found that she has a common cold (thank goodness) and a possible virus in her belly.  She went on a antibiotic every 6 hours through her IV and they are monitoring her through today.

SO – our weekend was spent at Children’s and, actually, it was a fun one.  Not having her hooked up to a million machines and just being able to hang together (in my opinion) made for a nice, lowkey weekend.

The good news – she is better and we are heading home today.

The bad news – she is officially on lockdown until the transplant.  Had this happened in 2 weeks – they would have potentially had to push off the transplant.  And we DO NOT want that happening soooo.  We are on lockdown.  What that means – only immediate family can see her and they will possibly have to wear masks.  We can’t take her to public places (had to stop her music class and no visits to the pool).

We can, however, put a “bubble” around her stroller to take her for walks with friends.  How crazy that I will have a baby in a bubble?

All in all, just a blip in our bigger blip. 🙂

In other news – here are some shots from our week!
