3 month milestone

I can’t even believe it.  Today, October 7, 2015 is exactly 3 months from when Beazy underwent her liver transplant.  Three months ago today.

This is one of the biggest milestones for many reasons:  she comes off some of her medications, if anything were to go wrong surgically it would have shown itself by 3 months, etc.  I just can’t believe we’ve finally reached her first big milestone post transplant.

As many of you know, we’ve been through SO much over the last 3 months.  Ups, downs, on the roller coaster and off of the roller coaster.  Throughout it all we have kept a strong faith, a positive attitude and have trusted our amazing team of doctors, nurses, and prayer warriors.  We’ve been open and honest about our journey and have shared our struggles and fears.

Although we have a long road ahead that is full of unknowns, we know that TODAY – we are celebrating.  We are celebrating Bea, we are celebrating her liver surgeons, Dr Campbell (who is primarily in charge of Bea’s recovery), Julie, Louise, the Fixer, Jules (our AMAZING home healthcare nurse), ALL of the nurses who took care of Bea at the hospital while she was recovering, and YOU:  all of you who have followed along and have kept Bea in your thoughts and prayers.  We celebrate you.

Throughout our journey, I kept a video diary of all things that were happening.  I included some of these entries in the below video along with photos to mark this big milestone.   You can view the video by clicking HERE.

The one thing I ask of those that are reading.  PLEASE continue adding Bea to your prayer list.  We have a long journey ahead and she will continue to benefit from your prayers but I ask you to consider thinking of the kids that aren’t as lucky as Bea.  Pray for those that are waiting.  The ones that are waiting for their organs because living donation isn’t an option for them.  Pray for these children and please pray for their parents.  It is them that need your prayers most.

#BEAstrong.
