Hi! I hope you all had a fun Labor Day weekend! We had a great week at the BEAhive (trying to use this as much as possible until it goes into retirement upon baby #2′s arrival). We were lucky enough to skip town and have a relaxing weekend away just the 2 of us.
[Always loving a good lollipop]
[Dipping pretzels into hummus has been Bea’s #1 afternoon snack until she started dipping her hands.]
[Okay. I still LOL every time I see this picture. I had scheduled family pictures wit our FAVORITE photographer, Kortnee Kate so that we had some shots before the new arrival. We were taking them on the golf course and it was going to be casual so I thought “how cute would a teeny tiny flower crown be?”.
Well, I ordered one and apparently I ordered a “flower helmet”. I couldn’t stop laughing just looking at her.]
[Luckily, I was able to trim it down but it still didn’t turn out the same as I thought it would. I can’t wait to see the pics – she barely kept it on but I’m hoping there is at least 1 with her wearing it.]
[And another shot of her bestie at daycare. How sleepy are these babies?!]
[And our trip to New Buffalo, MI. SO – we had planned to go to Florida but with all of this Zika talk and not wanting to be too far away from home – we decided to stick closer. Our minds immediately went to a place that our family visited 5 years ago for a family friend’s wedding and a place that reminded me of my Dad. I contacted our friends who had their wedding there (and have been vacationing there FOREVER) and they were kind enough to give us some great recommendations. It was a great (but FAST) weekend and I did a lot of reading….like read a whole book in 2.5 days 🙂 It was perfect.]
[We drove the 4.5 hour trip on Friday and got there in plenty of time to enjoy the afternoon. We unpacked and immediately went down to the first floor of our hotel – The Harbor Grand – to relax, have a drink and just read. It was perfect.
The Harbor Grand was great. Great amenities and LOVED that every morning they delivered a picnic basket of homemade breakfast foods to our door. We had a beautiful view of the marina and from the minute we walked in to the minute we left – we had the door open and felt the Michigan breeze morning, noon, and night.
Eligible. If you want a FAST read and live in Cincinnati – this book is for you. I really liked the story line but especially loved all of the references to Cincinnati and Hyde Park.]
[Friday night we went to the infamous The Stray Dog and it was perfect. We went at a great time because there was hardly a line and we got to sit outside on the roof. Dinner was delish, company was even better.]
[The highlight of the next day was a sunset sailboat ride that Jordan set up. He actually planned the entire weekend but this was my favorite part. He booked everything through New Buffalo Sailing and we had a GREAT sail and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.]
[Jordan and I couldn’t stop laughing about this boxed water purchase. We are both such suckers for good packaging and when we went to David’s in the morning – we had to pick it up. And yep, it tasted JUST like water. 🙂 ]
[Bea didn’t have a good time while we were gone AT ALL. Not even a little bit of fun. We are so lucky to have Jordan’s parents in town 🙂 ]
