SO – we had a girl. Another beautiful girl and we couldn’t be more excited! Penelope (Poppy) shares the same middle name as her mom and sister and the girls are officially taking over the Weidner household. And I love it. So does Jordan 🙂
On October 19th we went in for a c-section and spent the next few days at the hospital recovering but (more importantly) getting to know our newest addition. The whole experience was overwhelming. I didn’t think it could be as good as the first time and it certainly was. I was convinced it was a boy so hearing “ITS A GIRL” was so exciting and special. It was a crazy few days that including mostly major highs and a few sad moments when I was thinking about my Dad and how he would have LOVED to be the Pappy to Miss Poppy.
All in all – overly emotional and I get teary even writing this. But let’s get on to the fun stuff.
Poppy. Jordan always loved the name Penelope and Poppy seemed like such a happy name. I wasn’t sold on it originally because it was too close to Pappy but after everything with my Dad happened, it makes me extra happy to say her name all day long.
She is amazing. And so cute and looks SO much like Bea. We are settling into a groove and getting used to the lack of sleep (Bea has been good to us that way). When Poppy was born we opted to get a test done to basically check the status of her liver. Although the likelihood was EXTREMELY slim that something would be wrong, we wanted to get the doubt out of the way and the results came back great. What a relief.
Bea isn’t a HUGE fan of her new sister but is slowly warming up. She cried when visiting the hospital but I like to think it’s because she hates being in hospitals but once we got home there was little to no acknowledgment of the Poppy in the room. Occasionally now we see a glimmer of love when she walks over and air kisses her rock n play so only up from here!
Here are a TON of pics from the last couple of weeks. I promise I will get better about posting and I have a TON of cute pics from Halloween that I will share next week!
[Added another pink pumpkin!]

[My sister had her son the day after and we were right across the hall from each other for a couple of days! So fun to have twin cousins 🙂 ]
