weekly wears

Hi!

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving weekend.  After all of the craziness from the hospital, we were so excited to have a very low key weekend as a family at home.  Below are a few highlights 🙂

[Celebrating Jordan’s Dad’s birthday :)]

[Spending some QT with our besties (home for the week from Pittsburgh) at Blue Manatee story time]

[Girls outfits were from my sister and she got them from The Spotted Goose]

[I posted this pic after heading to Restoration Hardware outlet and so many people messaged me asking where it was!  Click HERE to get the info! ]

[And I am so excited to be picking this hobby back up!  I did a needlepoint belt for Jordan a few years ago and it took me SO long to complete I just was totally over needlepointing when I was finished.  A really good friend told me she was attempting to needlepoint ornaments for her kids and I just loved the idea!  I went to Absolutely Needlepoint in Madeira and they were so helpful and kind!]

[So, I decorated for Christmas a little early this year.  Normally I pull everything out the later part of Thanksgiving weekend and don’t put the wreath on my car until much closer to Christmas but I couldn’t help it this year!  My wreath was on a couple of days before Thanksgiving and now my house is fully decorated!  It just makes me feel so good!]

[LOTS of questions via Instagram (@hillarykweidner) where my wreaths were from.  The ones hanging with ribbon in the kitchen are from Trader Joes (of course…they have the best stuff).  They are fresh so I am hoping they last until Christmas :).  The ones above the mantle are a mix of fresh from Trader Joes and I also bought a few fakes from Restoration Hardware.  They really do look real and are super nice – I’m hoping to have them for a long time!]

[I also put little pink wreaths on the girl’s bedroom doors.  I bought these on Amazon!]

[I was so excited to start our own family tradition of going to The Queen City Club Christmas brunch and it definitely did not disappoint.  The only thing that could have gone a little better is that Bea wouldn’t even get close to Santa.  She was legit freaking out.  Good thing we have several more days to warm up to him 🙂  Poppy, on the other hand, was absolutely in love.]

[I also got a ton of questions on where my necklaces are from!  You guys – I love these necklaces so much.  I bought one after each girl was born and wear them at least 2-3 times a week.  The “B” necklace you can find HERE and the”P” necklace you can find HERE. They also have 25% off today with code:  MONDAY25 ]

[And then we headed up to Hyde Park Square for the lighting of the Christmas tree!  Santa came around on a firetruck and the weather was so nice that we were able to walk from our house – it was perfect]

[And then Sunday morning Bea woke up and told me she was ready for her picture with Santa.  Not the real Santa, the Christmas tree ornament Santa.]

[And Sunday….]

We were especially thankful to be spending the holiday weekend at home vs in the hospital.  It was so nice to spend time with family and friends and it makes me especially excited for the other fun holiday plans we have coming up!  Hope you enjoyed yours as well 🙂

  1. So glad you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend!!! Your pies looked so good. I don’t know if you every heard of the famous Grasshopper Pie Aunt Edie Kelly started making when we were to young to have it. Aunt Edie (Your Dad’s Uncle George’s Wife from Ridgewood New Jersey) said you had it be 21 to eat it. Anyway if you are interested here is the recipe.
    Crust
1/2 Box FAMOUS Chocolate cookies CRUSHED
    1/2 Stick Butter
Mix together put in a pie pan
    OR
Buy a Chocolate Pie crust already made and ready for use. Orea Pie Crust is the BEST.

    Filling
    Step 1:
    30 LARGE marshmellows
    1/2 Cup WHOLE milk
cook over LOW flame til melted using a DOUBLE BOILER IS BEST
(Let this cool before adding to cream mixture)

    Step 2:
1/2 pt. heavy cream OR USE COOL WHIP
2 oz. GREEN Crème de menth
1 1/2 oz WHITE Crème de cocoa
Beat till stiff ( Whipped Cream) ONLY IF YOU USE HEAVY CREAM TO MAKE YOUR OWN WHIPPED CREAM

OTHER WISE JUST MIX THE COOL WHIP WITH THE LIQUID

    Step 3:
    Fold in marshmellow mixture
POUR into the Pie Crust ~ Freeze or refrigerate.

    Step 4:
    Most important EAT AND ENJOY!!!!
