This past week was a total whirlwind – crazy with the kids and then Jordan and I snuck away to Chicago for our annual #holidayhooky day! We typically take a day right before the holidays to just unwind, hang, and have fun while getting some holiday shopping done 🙂 It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time!
This year, we went to one of my favorite cities – Chicago. I lived in Lakeview right when I graduated college and it was still 2 of the best years of my life. Although I love living in Cincinnati, I cherish the times I get to head to Chi for work or for fun.
We took Ultimate Air Shuttle up Thursday morning and flew back Thursday night in time to get the kids to bed. It was a crazy day but filled with so much fun!
[One of my best friends gave me the recommendation to start our day at Somerset. She said I’d love the decor, the food was great, and it was in an ideal location. She was spot on!]
[Although the weather was supposed to be good in Chicago, I still wanted to layer up. This top from Outfit Active is one of my favorites to dress up or down. If you haven’t visited my friend Alex’s store in Hyde Park – you need to!]
[Also one of my best recent shoe purchases – from Vince at the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Find them HERE!]
[LOVED everything in Club Monaco – especially this sweater. Find it HERE.]
[After our shopping extravaganza, we ended the day at Fig & Olive – perfect atmosphere and the food – and drinks – were delish]
[And look what I came back to! A beautiful sweater for Miss Beazy – such a thoughtful gift from a thoughtful friend!]
[First year of school pics are making me laugh so hard!]
[And my favorite Christmas decoration is this old radio flyer sled. When my family cleaned my grandma’s house out this was one of the things that we asked to take. It was my Dad’s. Apparently, he loved this sled so much because it was the “fastest sled” of his siblings. He would take so much time sharpening the blades (which is so him) to make sure it was the best and once his siblings caught on, they would want to take his sled over their own! He finally decided to write his name in huge letters on the other side to make sure everyone knew which one was his 🙂 ]
[One of my favorite things – making boards! Breakfast boards, cheese boards, etc – you name it!]
[And I just have to say that I have the best friends in the world! My best friend’s husband dressed as Santa for the Castle House x Hyde Park Moms event over the weekend and made a pitstop at our house first.]
[Bea was frightened]
[But eventually came around 🙂 ]
[And Saturday night we had Hyde Park Country’s Club Christmas event and it was a total blast! So fun to get dressed up. Find my dress HERE!]
[And then Sunday we met some of my girlfriends at St Ursula Academy’s Christmas Tea! It’s always so nice being back there and bringing Bea is such a joy! Her favorite part? The new theatre :)]
[And Sunday night dinner is always eventful – putting up my mom’s tree and decorating. Even a stop by by Santa himself 🙂 ]
