app obsession

Hi!

I wanted to share something that I have absolutely fallen in love with and something I think you all might enjoy too – especially if you are a working mom 🙂

First, let me start by saying I get a lot of questions about our childcare situation.  Who watches the girls?  Do you have a nanny full time? Below is what their weekly schedule is looking like for the summer (and there is a point to this, I promise)

Mondays:  Our nanny handles all three girls.  She fills their day with activities, outtings, etc.  She has been with us for about a year and we feel SO fortunate to have her.

Tuesdays:  My mother in law drops off and picks up the two older girls from camp and then spends the afternoon with them.  They eat lunch at camp so they’ll go to her house for naps and then tennis at 4pm.  I also have a sitter that comes to the house for the day to watch Louise.  She comes at 7:30am and hangs with her until 5:30pm

Wednesdays:  Our nanny handles all three girls.  Gets the two older girls to camp and picks them up.

Thursdays:  A different sitter than Tuesdays hangs with Louise for the day.  I get the girls to and from camp and then the sitter watches all three in the afternoon.

SO – there is a lot of changing hands, who is doing what, getting littles on time to camp, etc etc etc.  It started to give me anxiety so I looked for an app where I could keep track of the girls and what they were doing.

Here comes the Daily Nanny app.  Daily Nanny is an app that you can share with a caregiver or multiple caregivers to see what’s going on throughout the day.  Since the older girl’s camp already implemented something similar, I decided to use Daily Nanny just for the times when the sitters are alone with Louise.  That way, I can see how she is napping, eating, and give them a place to send me a picture once in awhile 🙂

SO – if you are a stressed out mom currently on maternity leave, I suggest downloading this app and save yourself the heartache of thinking you won’t know what’s going on with your kids throughout the work day.  I am certainly enjoying it!
