The big day came about 3 weeks earlier than we thought and if you can tell – I am a planner. A major planner. It was a Monday, my last day of work for awhile was Tuesday, Christmas was Thursday, and we were going to meet baby W on Sunday. We had about a week. Yikes.
In that week we got the nursery almost complete, ran to Buy Buy Baby one too many times, and had a lot of “can you believe we are about to be parents?” moments. To be honest – that week was somewhat a blur but we did made time for one more special date night at my favorite restaurant – Sotto.
The amazing people at Sotto dropped this off to our table once we were finished. 🙂 Such a memorable night.
Sunday morning we headed to the hospital, did some waiting, and after literally what felt like a couple of minutes we met the love of our lives – Beatrice “Bea” Kelly Weidner.
On our way to the hospital…
Our first family photo…
Our first selfie… 🙂
Be still my heart.
Such an incredible day and one that I will replay over and over in my head.
My next post will be a couple of lists that friends shared with me on what to pack for the hospital. I found these VERY helpful when preparing 🙂
So, like I said in my previous post, we had maternity pics done just a few days before baby bea’s arrival. So thankful we fit them in! Our fave photogs at Kortnee Kate did the pics and they turned out amazing. They are seriously so talented.
To be honest, I was never really planning on doing maternity pictures until they brought up the idea. Knowing that they were going to be the ones shooting them instantly made me look at maternity pictures differently. They didnt have to be cheesy but could be really fun and memorable. Thats exactly how the shoot went and if you are on the fence about doing them – I HIGHLY recommend you giving Kortnee Kate a call.
Check out the blog post they did about the shoot here. They are also offering mini sessions in their adorable new studio for only $300! Check out more info at the bottom and call to book ASAP. You won’t regret it!
Hello world! I am finally back. I appreciate those of you who have stuck with me over the last month – it has been a wild ride!
First, we had our baby. Over 2 weeks ago and yesterday (Jan 14th) was the day she was supposed to come. So needless to say, I have been a little crazed but finally feel like I can jump back into blogging occasionally (emphasizing “occasionally”).
It all started December 22nd when I went to to see my doctor because I was extremely itchy all over. Sounds weird, right? Well it was the freakiest feeling thing – my whole body itched but especially the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. Jordan & I went to the doctor on the 22nd and they diagnosed me with Cholestasis (don’t Google it…it will freak you out). The doc said that unless it got better by the end of the week – we would have the baby on December 28th. 3 WEEKS earlier than we thought and RIGHT after Christmas.
We had a great holiday…Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and then spent the weekend itching and getting last minute errands finished. We went in on December 28th to have our baby and all went smoothly.
We had a baby girl and named her Beatrice Kelly Weidner. Born 7 lbs 13.5oz and 20 inches long. We are calling her Bea (pronounced BEE).
I am so in love and forever changed.
These last 2 weeks have been so scary, amazing, full of fun, and terrifying all at the same time. HOW do I take care of a baby and how did I survive the last week home alone without Jordan?
Before getting into “all things baby”, I wanted to do a post of pictures leading up to this big day. My next post will be all about the maternity pictures we took with my favorite photographer just a few days before Baby B’s arrival and then I will dive into the big day and the last couple of weeks.
First, here is a highlight from what my life was like in December….
[Decorated for the holidays…]
[I hosted a cookie exchange with some friends…]
[My break & bake reindeer cookies….]
[And the beautiful & festive cocktails a friend brought….]
[Gearing up for our maternity pictures…]
[More holiday decor….]
[Still not being able to get over how big I was…]
[And my favorite little Christmas tree in the background. My sisters had a baby shower for me and asked each guest to bring a baby ornament for our baby-to-be. They then decorated this mini tree with all of the baby’s ornaments…so cute!]
[This was one of my favorite things about this Christmas. My parent’s added onto their house and we decided the best way to cheers to this new part of their home was to bring in the Christmas tree from the yard. This wasnt just any ordinary Christmas tree. My little sister planted this teeny tiny tree she got from Earth Day in the 3rd grade and 20 years later…it was large enough to cut down!]
[Our own Charlie Brown Christmas tree…]
[The adorable coffee & dessert bar at my Aunt & Uncle’s holiday party…]
[One of my oldest and closest friends with her babe on Christmas eve…]
[Not ready for what’s about to hit him….]
[Since we didn’t know what we were having, I picked up a couple things from the Gap before heading to the hospital!]
[Our last date night before the babe’s arrival. This was on Friday – Dec 26th – and the baby came on Sunday – Dec 28th]
[So, Jordan & I met on New Year’s Eve 10 years ago this year and since we thought the baby was coming on Jan 14th, we made a reservation a LONG time ago for NYE at our favorite spot – Sotto. When we got the news that baby w was coming early, I called and explained the situation and BEGGED them to get us in for one last date night. They did and also gave us this little onesie upon our arrival. It was so special.]
[Saturday night before Baby W was born my parents came over and my mom stayed just a little longer so we could have a “I cant believe you’re having a baby” moment….followed by a selfie in the nursery.]
[And finally…on our way to the hospital! Yes, I curled my hair.]
That is my round up of all things holiday before Baby Bea’s arrival. Although I can’t promise my posts will be regular, please remember to check back occasionally until I get fully into the swing of things!
